Basic Care for Bunnies

I'm a superb animal lovers.
I loved to watch how they react, their habits and the way they born to be.
However, during my 24 years of living, I have never getting myself any chance to explore more on what I desired, as my mom is allergic of having pets at home.

The day comes 3 year ago and nothing can stop me at that time. At first, I planned to have a family dog at that time, but due to location and budget constraints, I changed my target to bunnies. Since their body sizes are much smaller than dogs, I believed it would be much easier for me to adopt.

It's very important to choose a healthy bunny before you bought them home. I did not have any experience on selecting healthy bunnies, but the only thing I knew is we need to ensure they're active (running, eating, etc). Haha, for an exception case - I falled in love with Fatty at my first sight, as he is having a 2 different color tone on his ears.

There are few basic NEEDS we MUST know on our daily care to bunnies :

1. A suitable cage

2. Clean water and food

3. Avoid from heat or rain

4. Exercise

5. Partner / Spend time with them

Any ignorance or lack of above 5 basic needs may cause dangerous or death to bunnies.

It looks easy for everyone to fulfill the basic needs, but in reality, not everyone can meet their commitment. So, if you're thinking to have your own bunny or any pets, you really have to considerate whether you really have time to care for them.

Share with you a true incident which happen around me ...

My neighbour's son [at my hometown] was adopting a very cute puppy 2 years ago. And it's actually a homeless puppy. At first, the whole family was very excited to have their first adopted puppy and they'd spent a lot of times with the puppy. Good things do not last long. The puppy was growing up fast after 6 months. Guess what ? The family started not to provide food and water to the doggie sometimes for few days, all depend on their mood. The doggie barked madly, and merely begging people for food and water. I was so angry of their animal-abused action, and I'd tried to talk to them many times hoping for their consciousness. But, it's useless. My mom even climbed over the wall without being noticed (when the family was not at home) just to provide some food and water to the doggie. Can you imagine they're so cruel ?

Until recently, the whole family moved out, and they took the doggie to a far away isolated place. We did not know where is the doggie now and we never see it again.

I pray hard for the doggie. May its soul rest in peace.
